GasTrax is a fun iPhone app that lets you
keep track and monitor your fuel
consumption. It also analyzes your driving habits and grades you on how efficient a driver you are.

When used properly you can save up to
30 - 40% on fuel costs by improving your
driving habits.

GasTrax works by utilizing the GPS on the iPhone to calculate your speed, distance traveled, your number of stops and how much CO2 emissions your car produces on each trip.

GasTrax also plots your trip on a map for viewing your results later.

What is the percentage point breakdown?
The percentage points are broken down as
follows:
1. Rate of acceleration.
2. Time over the speed limit (average 65).
3. Total idle time.
4. Time in the sweet spot zone. (Typical car’s sweet spot zone 35mph – 45mph)
Based on these 4 measurements GasTrax then calculates your percentage score in real-time, saving the results every 30 seconds, it then later calculates your average percentage score for your trip.

GasTrax color codes your points:
<20% - Red
20 - 40%- Yellow
40 - 60% - Gold
80-100% - Green

How is Co2 calculated?
GasTrax calculates your CO2 emissions by
first determining your *cars size, small, medium or large (SUV). Then based on the distance of your trip an estimated CO2 emissions is then calculated.

What is total idle time?
Your Total Idle time is the total amount
of time your car stays idle. It is
believed that by reducing your cars idle
time during a trip you can save on fuel.

What is my trip cost?
You trip cost is the total cost of your
trip, based off of your last fuel up data.

Does GasTrax Calculate in Kilometers?
Yes, GasTrax can calculate both in miles
and kilometers. To get GasTrax to
convert to kilometers simply select either
km/L or L/100km under measurements in
the settings page.
